Our approach

An education built aroundyour child.

At Pathfinder, we don’t ask young people to fit a fixed mold. We help them build an education around their interests, strengths, goals, and needs, supported by experienced mentors and a community that values curiosity and growth.

Start with the learner

We build each education around a young person’s interests, strengths, goals, and needs, rather than asking every student to learn the same thing, the same way, at the same time.

Mentorship, not management

Experienced mentors meet with students to set goals, plan projects, solve problems, and build executive functioning skills. Growth happens through partnership, not external pressure.

Interests as a bridge

A passion for history, animals, gaming, art, or engineering can lead naturally to reading, writing, research, math, and critical thinking. We help interests become a bridge to new skills.

Community that belongs to everyone

Students become part of a supportive, mixed-age community where curiosity, collaboration, and meaningful work are valued, and where every learner can contribute.

Students examining evidence together in a forensics class
Kids collaborating on bead art at a craft table
A student sawing a board while another hammers a project together in the woodshop
Students playing guitars and drums together in a jam session

See it for yourself.

The best way to understand our approach is to visit and experience the community firsthand.
